I can help.

I founded Open Door OT to assist members of the community with their Occupational Therapy needs. Since graduating with a Master of Occupational Therapy in 2017,  I have worked in the community to bring optimal solutions to my clients that enhance their safety, function and independence. In that time, I have also developed an interest in prescribing Home Modifications and Assistive Technology, due to the direct impact they can have on an individual's quality of life. When you work with me, you can expect upfront and honest communication, professional service and proficient advice.

SOME UPFRONT COMMUNICATION:

As a clinician, I won't tell you that I can help you with something if I can't. Here are some instances where you might be better assisted by another Occupational Therapist:

  • If you are seeking paediatric specific services for a child under 15

  • If you need assistance with complex wheelchair seating needs/scripting

  • If you require mental health/pyschosocial specific intervention

  • If you need a driving assessment or vehicle modification

  • If you are an NDIS participant and are NDIA-managed

  • If you are an NDIS participant and "just want a letter" for Assistive Technology which you have already purchased without OT input.

I may be able to point you in the right direction though.

SERVICE AREAS:

Functional Assessments

A comprehensive Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) provides evidence of a person's current functioning in relation of their current needs and likely future needs.

The assessment incorporates the social, physical, cognitive, personal care, domestic care and community aspects of the person's day-to-day life, in relation to their disability or main condition.

A FCA Report may be used:

  • For access to the NDIS.

  • In preparation of a Plan Review.

  • At a time of a decline/change in functional capacity and where a Change of Circumstance is required.

  • To provide evidence for the need of funded supports inclusive of formal supports, Assistive Technology,
Home Modifications and Home and Living options.
